PB-4 (Scale Rs. 30,000/- to 1,10,000/-): Applies to Assam Civil Service, Assam Police Service, District Transport Officer, Superintendent of Excise, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, and Assam Urban Administrative Service. Grade Pay varies between Rs. 12,700/- and Rs. 13,300/- depending on the post.
PB-3 (Scale Rs. 22,000/- to 97,000/-): Applies to Inspector of Labour, Inspector of Excise, Assistant Employment Officer, Sub-Registrar, and Research Assistant. Grade Pay is Rs. 9,400/-.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality & Domicile:
The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
Must be an original inhabitant of Assam and registered in a District Employment Office of Assam.
Must be able to speak Assamese or other official/associate official languages of the State or any tribal language of the State.
2. Educational Qualification:
Must hold a Degree from any recognized University.
3. Age Limit (As of 01.01.2025):
Minimum Age: 21 years.
Maximum Age: 38 years.
Age Relaxations:SC/STP/STH candidates: 5 years (up to 43 years).
OBC/MOBC candidates: 3 years (up to 41 years).
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years.
Application Fee
The processing fee varies based on the candidate’s category:
General: Rs. 297.20.
OBC/MOBC: Rs. 197.20.
SC/ST/BPL/PwBD/Women Candidates: Rs. 47.20.(Note: Women candidates are highly encouraged to apply and are exempted from application fees, requiring only the standard processing fee).
Selection Process (Stages of Examination)
The examination will be conducted in two successive stages:
1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):
Consists of two papers (General Studies I and General Studies II), 200 marks each.
Time duration is 2 hours per paper.
Negative Marking: One-fourth (1/4th) of the total mark assigned to a question will be deducted for wrong answers.
Paper II is qualifying in nature with a minimum requirement of 33% marks.
2. Main Examination (Written & Interview):
Written Exam: Consists of six essay-type papers. Paper 1 is Essay (250 marks), and Papers 2 to 6 are General Studies (250 marks each), totaling 1500 marks.
Interview/Personality Test: Evaluated out of 180 marks.
Total Marks for Final Ranking: 1680 marks.
Examination Centres
Preliminary Examination: Will be held across multiple centres in Assam including Amingaon, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Nagaon, Silchar, Tezpur, and others.
Main Examination: Will be exclusively held at the Guwahati Centre.

Register on the portal using a valid email ID and mobile number (One Time Registration – OTR).
Upload required documents such as age proof, graduation certificate, caste certificate, etc., in PDF format (file size should not exceed 4 MB).
Upload a recent photograph and signature (size 50 KB – 200 KB).
Complete the fee payment to successfully submit the application.
